Shopping Trips

Here’s why I didn’t get any posts done today…

First of all, my 4 year old stays home with Mom on Wednesdays.  We have to have some girl time. :-)
Then I decided it was time to organize my coupons.  They were taking over my office, purse and kitchen island. Can anyone out there identify?  Finally, I made my list and went to Publix.  I hadn’t been shopping for a couple of weeks, so this was a big trip!

October 11, 2010

I haven’t posted a shopping trip in a while, so I thought I would today.
This is not my best, but my excuse is that my 4 year old was shopping with me.
That girl IS a shopper!
She probably cost me an extra $12 that I wasn’t planning to spend, but she is well worth it. She requested Bugles and Pistachios and did NOT get upset at all when I told her Fruit Snacks were not on sale.

Here’s what I got:

Produce:

Everybody’s Nuts Pistachios 13 oz bag, 2 bags (Not on sale, my 4 yr old LOVES these, and she’s a good begger!)
Zucchini/Squash discounted pkg – dinner tonight!
Bananas
Whole White Mushrooms, 2 pkgs

Meat:

Tillapia Fillets, frozen, 2 bags
London Broil, 2 pkgs

Grocery:

Lucky Charms cereal, 4 boxes
Honey Nut Cheerios, 2 boxes
McCormick Mesquite Marinade Mix (to go with one of the London Broils)
Kraft Homestyle Dinner, 2 pkgs (Haven’t tried these yet, but they were only a buck each.)
Kellogg’s Pop-Tarts, 3 boxes
Quaker Instant Grits, 2 boxes
Bugles (requested by my 4 year old)
Nilla Wafers Reduced Fat, 4 boxes
Diet Pepsi Max, 12 pk

Refrigerated:

2 Gallons Milk
Coffee Mate Creamer 16 oz, 6 bottles

Frozen:

Green Giant Valleyfresh Steamers, 4 bags
Totino’s Pizza Rolls, 4 boxes

Household:

Angel Soft Bath Tissue 12 roll pk, 2 pkgs

Health & Beauty:

Aussie Hair Gel

Plus, the register printed out a coupon for $5 off my next order of $55 or more and (2) $1 off my next order coupons courtesy of Kraft (I’m guessing the Kraft Homestyle Dinners triggered those catalinas).

I also picked up the following coupons while shopping:

  • FREE Bananas (up to 55¢) wyb Nilla Wafers (These were Peelies on the Nilla Wafers.   I used 2 of them, but have 2 more for another trip.)
  • $1.50/1 Kellogg’s Rice Krispies Cereal AND one bag M&Ms Chocolate Candies 9.9 oz- I got 2 of these.
  • FREE Pepsi Max 2 liter wyb 2 pkgs Ball Park Franks - I got 4 of these.  I plan to take these to Publix tomorrow to pick up some FREE Pepsi Max with my FREE Ball Park Franks. :-)
(Check the current Yellow Advantage Flyer to see how to get your FREE Ball Park Franks through Wednesday 10/13/10!)

Quick Publix Shopping Trip

by Melisha on September 14, 2010

I had to run into Publix tonight on the way home from music practice because my oldest son needed distilled water for Chemistry class tomorrow.  I called home to ask if we needed anything else, and my husband requested Oreos.  We were also out of milk and low on creamer.  So, I go into Publix with NO coupons (this was not a planned trip).

First stop, Oreos.  They had a peelie on them for “buy one package of Oreos, get $1 off milk”…score!
Next stop, creamer.  The pint size International Delight Coffee House flavors are priced 2/$3 or $1.50 each.  Right in front of them was a blinkie for $1 off.  So I got 6 @ 50¢ each!
Last stop, distilled water.  No coupon. Bummer.

I walked into the store with NO coupons; picked up 9 coupons in the store.
Spent $19.91, saved $14.70.

Not as good as I usually do with a planned trip, but not too bad!

One of the things I teach in my classes is to just pay attention.  Coupons are everywhere!

YOU CAN DO THIS! I can teach you!!!
I have 5 FREE coupon classes scheduled this month at Orange County Public Library locations around Orlando.
